Evan Parness is Executive Director of Business Development & Digital Licensing at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). In this position, Parness is responsible for the growth and diversification of digital licensing revenues, with a particular focus on licensing solutions for emerging digital markets. He focuses on fitness, OTT services, and gaming, as well as other unique services utilizing BMI music in often non-conforming manners. Parness is an active musician, producer and songwriter, with his work being used for a variety of television, advertising, professional sports arena anthems, web series, and independent releases.


Previously, Parness spent 11 years at eMusic.com, where he first oversaw royalty accounting and systems for the music and audiobook services, working closely with both indie and major labels, and then expanded into managing the service’s global PRO and publisher agreements. He also served as Sr. Director of Finance and Administration for the company, overseeing worldwide operations as well as the internal restructuring of the company that occurred after it was sold to Triplay, Inc. Parness began his career at Eagle Rock Entertainment, working specifically with US royalties and mechanical licensing.
