Music Biz named this session “Music’s Leading Ladies Speak Out” back in 2015 with the goal of the session to celebrate some formidable women in the music industry and to inspire those looking to break into the biz with a forum to share ideas and discuss ways to overcome and eliminate inequality. While this goal still holds true today, the name of this session could not be more appropriate. Artists and executives alike have come forward to demand that all voices are heard and to call for an immediate transformation of the entertainment industry. Today’s Music’s Leading Ladies Speak Out will again celebrate the careers of our stellar line-up of speakers, but will also touch on how today’s women can push the boundaries to bring equality to our business.
The Power of She: Unlocking the Value of Female Fans
Nielsen Music’s Erin Crawford will kick off the Leading Ladies program by sharing exclusive insights and analytics on the growing influence of female fans in today’s music industry. The presentation will spotlight the music habits of women across generations, key differences between male and female fans, and new ways to drive deeper engagement with these powerful consumers.
