From Farm To FGL: The Story of Seth England, Serial Entrepreneur

Raised a rural farm kid in small-town Illinois, Seth England’s love of music led him to pursue the business in college. To pay the bills, he began promoting shows. Teaming with a friend and frustrated by the out of touch campus activities board, their approach was different — promote shows “that our friends would like to see.”  Their first show sold out and a college side job was born. After internship stints at Harlan Howard Songs and Vector Management, England’s interest in the publishing side of the business drove him to Big Loud Shirt. He met Big Loud Shirt founder Craig Wiseman in 2007 while pulling weeds in the parking lot on a “slow work day.” Admiring his work ethic, Wiseman brought England into the fold full-time less than a year later.

In the past five years, the company expanded to add management, production, and eventually label services to their publishing and A&R offerings. Following the success of signees like Florida Georgia Line and Chris Lane, the risk-taking partners have launched careers and built brands based around their belief in the music. Recently, the individual arms – Big Loud Shirt, Big Loud Mountain, and Big Loud Records – all elected to celebrate continued success and further growth by re-branding to “Big Loud.” England will discuss this journey, his mentors and his ambitions, focusing in on what he believes will help set you apart as you begin your music industry career.
