Jim Belcher is VP of Technology and Production for Universal Music Group’s Global Digital Business division. A 19-year UMG veteran, he works with a global team to evaluate emerging technologies and identify new business opportunities on behalf of the company’s expansive roster of artists and labels. He also works closely with UMG’s key digital music partners Beats, Rhapsody, YouTube, Apple and Amazon. Among Belcher’s current projects is high-resolution audio, exploring advances in this field and coordinating activities with industry partners and organizations to push the technology forward. Since joining UMG, Belcher has produced or executive produced over 40 high-resolution DVD-Audio titles for the company. His production credits for UMG include the Blu-ray releases of The Police –Certifiable, Nine Inch Nails - Beside You In Time, and Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden.
