Jewly Hight is a Nashville-based Music Critic & Journalist. She regularly contributes radio, print and web pieces to NPR/NPR music, The New York Times, Vulture, Billboard, The Oxford American and other outlets. She was the inaugural recipient of the Chet Flippo Award for Excellence in Country Music Journalism, and published her first book, “Right By Her Roots: Americana Women and Their Songs” in 2011.
